Huddersfield fined £50,000 over Paddy Power shirt stunt

Huddersfield Town have been fined after admitting a Football Association charge of misconduct relating involving a company that was betting # 50,000.
Regardless of the episode later being revealed as a PR stunt, even the FA asked the Championship side to explain their Paddy Power shirt worn on July 17.
The strip featured a diagonal sash with fresh sponsors’Paddy Power’ written it down.
Because of this, the team breached section C.2i of the FA’s Kit and Promotion regulations, which states that the jersey is allowed to possess”one single area not exceeding 250 square centimetres on the front of the shirt”.
The club have already confessed the control and the governing body has cautioned Huddersfield over their future behaviour.
An FA statement said:”Huddersfield Town FC was fined #50,000 and warned as to its future conduct by an independent Regulatory Commission after admitting a complaint in relation to The FA’s Kit and Advertising Regulations.
“Playing apparel worn by the club’s original group throughout a pre-season favorable against Rochdale AFC on 17 July 2019 breached FA Regulation C.2(I).”
