Harry Kane says after they threw away a 2-0 lead against Olympiakos in the Champions 23, Tottenham have not learned from their mistakes.
Despite leading through Kane’s penalty and the emphatic finish of Lucas Moura , last season’s beaten finalists were held to a 2-2 draw in Greece.
“It is possible to see why the manager is frustrated,” stated England ahead Kane.
“He’s been here for five decades now and we’re still making similar mistakes as we had been the first year.”
Tottenham conceded a 2-0 lead in the north London derby at Arsenal on 1 September, also Kane said the team needed to upgrade.
“We are not young any longer, we are not inexperienced, we have played in big games for club and country,” he further added.
“We’ve got to attempt and discover a way to get about it and also improve and make better. That is all we could attempt to perform.”
After dropping two things, pochettino, that was appointed by Spurs in May 2014, questioned his team’s attitude. His side match in Group B is at home to champions Bayern Munich on 1 October.
“In the start of this year we are conceding a lot of opportunities and a lot of goals and we must change this,” said the Argentine.
“The only way we could change is being harder . That is the way we are likely to approach days that are various and be consistent.
“Training needs to be harder. Psychologically harder.
“I feel really disappointed. From the first half, I wasn’t happy with our performance. In the beginning we had a plan and the plan wasn’t respected by us.
“That is what disappointed me most and that’s what I told the players in half-time.”
Former Tottenham midfielder Michael Brown added on BBC Radio 5 live:”I stated last season that Spurs had performed extremely well but unfortunately they are simply not going to be able to keep up with Liverpool and Manchester City, and that is still the case. They are just not at exactly the exact identical degree.
“They have got some amazing individuals but as a group together, this keeps happening – that they keep slipping upward and conceding aims at the wrong time.
“We’re becoming critical of Spurs and where they have come , but they’ve got this brand new stadium and some good players. Could they keep progressing and not be this selling club?”
